For American Pie 2, he wrote that Jim was attending the University of Michigan. The University did not approve the use of its name due to the content of the film and all the references were taken out.
It took four tries for American Pie to get an 'R' rating instead of an 'NC-17.'

He graduated from the University of Michigan.
He made a deal with Universal Pictures to set up his own production company that will develop and produce films for Universal Pictures (2003).
All 3 'American Pie' films made over $100 Million each at the box office in the US alone.
