    (April 10, 1927-October 23, 2014)
    Born in San Francisco, California
    Advisor to Nancy Reagan (1981-89)
Wrote ‘What Does Joan Say’ (1990)
She determined the timing of Ronald Reagan’s speeches, public appearances and travel.
She boasted, ‘Not since the days of the Roman emperors has an astrologer played such a significant role in a nation’s affairs of state.’
She basically took advantage of Nancy Reagan’s fears after the assassination attempt against her husband.
She believed that using a computer to cast horoscopes made astrology a scientific discipline.
After nothing happened on the day she predicted an earthquake would strike San Francisco, she explained, ‘I was never good at earthquakes. What I do best is politics.’
She never claimed to be a psychic.
She charged the White House a reduced rate.
She may have helped end the Cold War by giving a favorable astrological report on Gorbachev to the Reagans.
Reagan may have needed some supernatural assistance to beat the curse of Tecumseh.
