    She liked to pull practical jokes on her castmates (e.g. having a bunch of keys made with a tag reading 'If lost, please return to John Wayne, RKO Studios. Reward' and dropping them all over town).
    Her family threatened a libel suit of a John F. Kennedy biographer after he reported a claim that she had been intimately involved with the future President in the early fifties (2009).

    She was told by MGM that if she agreed to take a supporting role in 'Keep Your Powder Dry' that she would be cast in a leading role opposite Robert Taylor. They cast Katharine Hepburn instead, and she left MGM in protest.
