Why they might be annoying:

Religious accounts mix faith, interpretation, fantasy and historical reality making accuracy suspect.
Assyrian invaders conquered and exiled them (Circa 721 BC).
They and the Tribes of Joseph and Manasseh pronounced certain words differently from the other tribes, which made them identifiable.
Revelations does not accept them as one of the 12 tribes.
They were known as discontented, domineering, haughty and jealous.
They fought the Battle of the Philistines.
Their jealousy of the growing power of Judah split Judah and Israel.

Why they might not be annoying:

They were the most dominant of the tribes in the Kingdom of Israel.
Some Jews do not accept Reuben and Joseph as tribes and accept Manasseh and them instead (Genesis 48:5-6).
Persian Jews claim to descend from them.
Church of God in Christ claims the UK is their direct descendant.
Several hundred descendants of this tribe, known as Samaritans, live in Israel currently.
They consider themselves Hebrew and not Jewish and claim Moses as their only prophet.
Joshua was their leader.
Despite being younger than his brother Manasseh, he received the blessing of the firstborn.
Ephraim was blessed with double fruitfulness.
They were modest and unselfish.
They left Egypt 30 years prior to the Exodus.
