Why Europe might be annoying:

Rome began using slaves (250 BC).
Greece invaded India (183 BC).
Muslims and Christians battled for control of Europe during the dark ages.
Various plagues and wars killed many Europeans during the middle ages.
They are imperialistic and have colonized or attempted to colonize most land areas on Earth.

Why Europe might not be annoying:

Greece originated democracy.
Greek and Roman cultures advanced mathematics, philosophy and architecture.
Some of the great Greek/Roman thinkers and philosophers included Thales of Miletus, Pythagoras, Aeschylus, Phidias, Sophocles, Protagoras, Herodotus, Euripides, Thucydides, Socrates, Hippocrates, Democritus, Aristophanes, Plato, Aristotle, Praxiteles, Epicurus, Euclid, Zeno the Stoic, Aristarchus, Archimedes, Eratosthenes, Herophilus, Polybius, Cicero, Lucretius, Virgil and Horace.
The Nordic Vikings began exploration and perhaps found North America 500 years before Columbus.
The Magna Carta became the law of England (1215).
Europeans invented the windmill (1180), mechanical clock (1290) and printer with movable type (1450).
The renaissance brought forth some of the great writers, artists and explorers.
Although Europe is trying to unite since World War II, with the common market and European Union, they have more diverse distinct cultures in the smallest area on Earth.
