Jews and Christians believe she was evil and immoral.
She had many political enemies executed.
She promoted human sacrifice in Israel.
She is often confused with another Biblical Jezebel, who appears in the Book of Revelation.
Her name became a synonym for ‘slut' or ‘whore.'

Why she might not be annoying:

The Bible doesn't actually depict her as a slut or whore.
She wore the pants in her family.
Feminists say her story is another example of the Bible's sexism.
They point out that her actions aren't worse than those of many Biblical saints and male ‘heroes.'
She was killed by being defenestrated (thrown out a window).
Her body was left to be eaten by stray dogs.
She reportedly met her death with dignity.
Many musicians recorded songs about her, including Leonard Cohen, 10,000 Maniacs, Sade and Divine.
One critic said: ‘She got one of the worst raps in human history.'
