Why he might be annoying:

He was a Nazi.
He was murdered by Herschel Grynszpan, a young man disgruntled over the deportation of his parents by the Germans
Since Grynszpan was Jewish, the Nazi Party used Vom Rath's death to inspire increased anti-semitism in the German people.
The result was Kristallnact, a full day of government-sanctioned violence against Jews in Germany, during which thousands of innocent Jews were killed or arrested.
He was only a junior diplomat, but the Nazis made him look like a fallen martyr.

Why he might not be annoying:

He died young.
He, like countless others, was brainwashed by Hitler's propaganda into putting his trust into the Nazi Party.
He suffered from intestinal problems.
