Why he might be annoying
In 1978, he fled to Europe to avoid sentencing after being convicted of the statutory rape of a 13-year-old girl. He will be arrested upon entering the US.
It was rumored he slept with then underage Nastassja Kinski, star of his film 'Tess.'
He once said 'Normal love isn't interesting. I assure you that it's very boring.'
He was arrested on behalf of the US 1978 warrant while in Switzerland (September 27, 2009).
Why he might not be annoying
His eight months pregnant wife Sharon Tate was murdered by the Manson family (1969).
Polanski had planned to direct Tate in an adaptation of 'Tess of the D'Ubervilles,' and he dedicated the 1980 film to her.
Though he and his father survived World War II, his mother died in a concentration camp.
