    He was nominated for Best R&B Song in 2014 for 'Love and War,' performed by Tamar Braxton.
    He made several appearances on American Idol as a vocal coach, as well as the 'Tamar and Vince' show, which featured Braxton performing his music.
    He cited Michael Jackson as a major influence professionally, saying: '[He] taught me a lot about discipline and to always challenge yourself. Always continue to ask yourself, is this the best you can do?'
    He was beginning to make a move into solo recording at the time of his death, releasing his debut album, 2018's 'The Big Shiz Project,' to critical acclaim and showing great promise.
