    Present canon established by St. Athanasius (circa 362 AD)

Why he might be annoying:

    There is disagreement as to whether it was meant to build upon or replace the Old Testament.
    The gospels, which chronicle the life of Christ, were not written until 50 years after his death.
    There is debate as to whether it is infallible or not.
    It encourages its followers to lead a celibate life.
    Those chosen to be disciples, or Christ's inner circle, were men only.
    Its account of Christ’s crucifixion has been used to justify persecution of the Jews for centuries.
    Few believers heed its command to give away all their money.
    It teaches that only those who believe in Christ will be saved from hell.
    It encourages followers to convert or harass people who follow other faiths.
    Its prediction of the imminent end of the world proved false.

Why he might not be annoying:

    Its teachings form the foundation of Christian belief.
    It is a key record of the first century of Christianity.
    It stresses forgiveness, equality and brotherly love.
    It champions the poor and downtrodden.
    Followers are urged to convert others to save them from hell.
    Its moral lessons are often taught in the form of accessible parables.
    It promises resurrection of the body after death.
    Several female characters, such as Mary, play important roles.
    It has inspired many great humanitarians, such as Martin Luther King, Jr. and Mother Teresa.
    It inspired much great Western art (and many scenery-chewing Hollywood epics).
