Monarch

The Resume

    (August 30, 1334-March 23, 1369)
    Born in Burgos, Spain
    King of Castile (1350-1369)
Nicknamed both Pedro the Cruel and Pedro the Just

Why he might be annoying:

He was a puppet of his mother early in his reign.
He is frequently confused with King Pedro of Portugal.
To make things even more confusing, he warred with Aragon, whose king was Pedro (or Peter) of Aragon. It was known as the 'War of Two Peters.'
    He was married three times.
He married his first wife in secret and was then pressured to marry his second wife, which basically made him a bigamist.
He deserted his second and third wives.
He is described as an evil, vicious king.
He fought a civil war against his bastard half-brother.

Why he might not be annoying:

    He became king at fifteen.
He treated his Jewish subjects fairly.
In fairness, historical sources about his alleged evil are unreliable.
He was killed by his half-brother in a tent.
