Mayor

The Resume

    (March 25, 1963- )
Republican Mayor of Waterbury, Connecticut (1996-2001)
Arrested and accused of paying a prostitute to bring her daughter and niece to him for sexual encounters, when they were 8 and 10 years old (July 2001)
Convicted of violating the civil rights of the girls, conspiring with a prostitute and using an interstate device (a cell phone) to arrange the liaisons (2003)
Sentenced to 37 years (of a possible life sentence) in federal prison (June 13, 2003)

Why he might be annoying:

He lost a 2000 U.S. Senate bid to incumbent Joseph Lieberman.
Several Connecticut contractors were convicted of giving bribes to him while he was mayor in exchange for city approved contracts.
After repeated sexual encounters with the hooker, he asked her to secure little girls for his demented pleasure.
Addicted to crack, the hooker let him violate her daughter and niece for $40-$60 per session.
Between November 2000 and July 2001, the married father of three brutalized the girls 15 times, having encounters at City Hall, his home and his private law office he used as a sex den.
On an F.B.I. taped phone conversation, he warned the hooker, 'If my name gets mentioned, you might as well put a knife through your throat and kill yourself.'
Upon sentencing, the federal judge exclaimed, 'Your conduct is the worst I have ever seen. I've seen drug dealers, murderers. What you did is indescribable. You, sir, are a sexual predator.'
In 2006, he had the stones to ask the city of Waterbury for $61,000 he says was due him for unused sick days, personal days and vacation time while he was mayor (he request was denied).
In 2007, he petitioned the federal court to reduce his sentence, a bid that was soundly rejected.

Why he might not be annoying:

He served in the U.S. Marine Corps.
In November 2006, he was attacked by a prison inmate, who hit him in the head with a sock filled with batteries (he received minor wounds).
He can claim to be #1 at something - in 2010, news website 'The Daily Beast' rated the 'Top 58 Political Sex Scandals,' and amid stiff competition, he was their top choice.
