    Born in Horodok, Ukraine
    Birth name was Martin Rosenblatt
Portrayed Artemus Gordon in The Wild Wild West

Why he might be annoying:

He earned a law degree but never practiced.
He had to be replaced on ‘Wild Wild West’ for nine episodes after he broke his leg then suffered a near-fatal heart attack (1968).
After his heart attack, producers felt it was too risky to hire him for lead roles.
His final TV appearance, in the movie ‘I Married Wyatt Earp,’ aired two years after he died.

Why he might not be annoying:

He spoke Yiddish, Polish, Russian, French, Spanish, and Italian.
Thanks to his flair for dialects, at one point he had recurring roles on eight different radio dramas.
He designed the makeup for most of Artemus Gordon’s disguises himself.
A television critic called him ‘an Alec Guinness in chaps.’
He established a celebrity tennis tournament to raise funds for the Children’s Asthma Research Institute and Hospital.
