Metcalf was 12 years her junior.
Dottie's third husband, Al Winters, was 23 years younger.
She went from wearing conservative gingham dresses to sporting skin tight pants (1970s).
In 1990, she announced she was broke and filing for bankruptcy on 'Entertainment Tonight.'
She appeared on cheesy programs like 'The Love Boat' and 'Hee Haw.'

As a pre-teen, Dottie was allegedly raped by her drunken father.
She was the first female country artist to take home a Grammy in 1964.
Her close friend, Patsy Cline, was only 34 days older.
She was a natural red head.
During the public auction of her items, fans won them and returned them to Dottie.
At 58, she died from extensive liver injuries sustained in a car crash.
