Appeared in the films 'The Wildcat' (1917), 'Gun Woman' (1918), 'The White Squaw' (1920), 'The Girl Sheriff' (1921), 'Stampede' (1921), 'The Queen of the Night Clubs' (1929) and 'Broadway Through a Keyhole' (1933)
Hosted and owned a series of New York nightclubs: The El Rey Club, The 300 Club, the Salon Royale, Club Intime and the Argonaut

Why she might be annoying:

Her clubs were illegal speakeasies during Prohibition.
When raided by the police, she would claim, not too convincingly, that the patrons had brought the booze to the club themselves.
Her trademark greeting to her patrons was 'Hello suckers!'
When she attempted to take her stage show to Europe, she was banned by England and France.

Why she might not be annoying:

She earned $700,000 a year during the Roaring Twenties.
Her clubs attracted New York's elite, including Walter Chrysler, George Gershwin, Al Jolson and John Barrymore.
George Raft and Ruby Keeler were discovered as dancers at her clubs.
After being turned back from Europe, she titled her revue 'Too Hot for Paris' and toured the US to great success.
