    Its downtown area got mostly destroyed by the 1906 San Francisco Earthquake.

    It is famous for its large number of wineries and vineyards.
    It has hosted the Luther Burbank Rose Parade and Festival since 1894.
    It witnessed Lewis Black's recording of his album 'Luther Burbank Performing Arts Center Blues' and George Carlin's final performance at the Luther Burbank Center for the Arts.
    Safari West is located just north of the city's boundaries.
