Why they might be annoying
Their first album was virtually ignored during the grunge craze of the early '90s.
Tony and Gwen Stefani were high school sweethearts who broke up after 6 years together. Their breakup is chronicled on Tragic Kingdom.
'Don't Speak' was one of the most overplayed songs of 1996.
The media's focus on Gwen Stefani reportedly caused tension within the band.
Adrian is known for performing wearing only his thong underwear.
Why they might not be annoying
The band has survived the suicide of their original lead singer, John Spence, and the departure of their keyboardist, Eric Stefani.
They have been together for over 15 years.
Tony and Gwen Stefani did not allow their breakup to negatively impact the band and they have remained best friends.
They are willing to experiment with new sounds and work with different kinds of musicians (i.e., Bounty Killer, Dave Stewart from Eurythmics).
