Oddity
    (November 25, 1890-August 27, 1960)
    Born in Brooklyn, New York
Birth name was Stanley Jacob Weinberg
    Serial impostor
Posed as military officers, diplomatic officials, doctors and journalists
He would typically use his assumed position to run up huge bills before getting busted when his credit ran out.
Posing as a Naval Liaison Officer, he fleeced Princess Fatima of Afghanistan out of $10,000 for 'gifts' to State Department officials (1921).
He spent four months in a workhouse after being arrested for vagrancy (1935).
During World War II, he was sentenced to seven years in jail for counseling draft dodgers on how to fake illnesses.
He got busted for fraud for trying to get a $5,000 home improvement loan for a non-existent house (1954).
He did manage to arrange for Princess Fatima to meet Secretary of State Charles Evans Hughes and President Warren G. Harding.
When the Evening Graphic wanted an interview with Queen Marie of Romania, who was refusing to see journalists, they hired Weyman who posed as a State Department official to gain admittance and get the interview.
He was fatally shot trying to stop a robbery at a New York hotel where he was working as a night porter.
The detective investigating the robbery said, 'I've known about the man's past record for years. He did a lot of things in the course of his life, but what he did this time was brave.'
He said, 'One man's life is a boring thing. I've lived many lives. I'm never bored.'
