Why Simple Life might be annoying
Its stars tend to take nothing seriously except being pampered.
The first season was overloaded with repeats.
Unlike Kenan & Kel, they get away with practically anything.
It is billed as ‘Unscripted,’ but there is little evidence of that.
Nicole routinely uses foul language around her hosts.
Paris does almost all of the driving to and from their destinations.
The official Simple Life website at fox.com relies almost exclusively on plug-ins rather than standard links.
Paris fired Nicole from future 'Simple Life' series, claiming Nicole would be too busy. It is believed Paris was angered that Nicole showed friends Paris' porn tape (April 2005).
Why Simple Life might not be annoying
The first season was actually good clean fun, until the episode where they embezzled a birdhouse.
Subsequent seasons were not peppered with constant repeats.
It is mindless escapist entertainment.
It features women in roles that might have applied to the Three Stooges (taking on odd jobs with hilariously disastrous results).
Their antics are sometimes compared to the far more hilarious Lucy and Ethel.
A French-Canadian version of the show, starring Jacynthe, was the subject of an Access Hollywood snippet.
Mary Ellis Bunim died during its inaugural season.
