Musician

The Resume

    (March 7, 1942-April 24, 2020)
    Born in Newman, Georgia
    Drummer and bandleader
Recorded the singles ‘Foot Stompin’ Music’ (1975), ‘Disco Stomp’ (1975), ‘Bohannon’s Beat’ (1976), ‘Bohannon’s Disco Symphony’ (1977), and ‘Let’s Start the Dance’ (1978)

Why he might be annoying:

He frequently released records under the mononym ‘Bohannon.’
Although a frequent presence on Billboard’s R&B and disco charts, he crossed over to the Top 100 only once, with ‘Foot Stompin’ Music,’ which peaked at a mere #98.
He did not demonstrate much variety, with most of his songs built on a four-on-the-floor disco beat.
The liner notes for his album ‘Dance Your Ass Off’ included a disclaimer that the title ‘is not used in the sense of profanity.’ (So this was music to be played if a donkey sat on you and needed to be dislodged?)
