    She is a self-hating human, telling Reader's Digest: 'Humans have grown like cancer. We're the biggest blight on the face of the planet' (June 1990).
    She sees no difference between humans and animals. She said: 'The smallest form of life, even an ant or a clam, is equal to a human being.' She told Vogue: 'Animal liberationists do not separate out the human animal, so there is no rational basis for saying that a human being has special rights. A rat is a pig is a dog is a boy. They're all mammals' (September 1989).
    She told the Washington Post: 'Six million Jews died in concentration camps, but six billion broiler chickens will die this year in slaughter houses' (November 13, 1983).
    She refused to back down on her campaign to equate the suffering of chickens to that of Jews in concentration camps. However when donations went down, that campaign quickly disappeared.
    She is against people owning pets.
    She believes dogs should be set free telling the Chicago Daily Herald 'They would have full lives, not waiting at home for someone to come home in the evening and pet them and then sit there and watch TV' (March 1, 1990).
    She told the Washington Post: 'Even if animal tests produced a cure for AIDS, We'd be against it' (May 30, 1989).
    She hates the circus.
    She said: 'Animals are not ours to eat, wear, experiment on or use for entertainment.'
    Her organization donated $1,500 to the Earth Liberation Front, a domestic terrorist group that sets fires to SUVs in California (2001).
    She is a vegan.

    Her group PeTA is the largest animal rights organization in the world.
    Her original goal was 'investigating, publicizing and ending animal cruelty.'
    She was involved in the first US arrest of a lab animal scientist on animal cruelty charges.
    She addressed the Canadian Parliament.
    She said: 'We're not afraid of making idiots of ourselves.'
    She stopped General Motors from crash testing on animals.
