ABC
Hosted by Jo Frost
Based on the British TV series of the same title (also with Frost, September 2004– )
Premise: SuperNanny observes a day in the life of a couple with problem children, following up with solutions to the issues they all face
Why SuperNanny might be annoying
The opening titles feature a Disney Mary Poppins-style silhouette.
The opening theme is a cover of Men at Work’s ‘Be Good Johnny.’
It was almost always led in by Wife Swap (and feels just as contrived).
It featured a three-year-old shoplifter.
Why SuperNanny might not be annoying
It’s quite the reality check for some families who were under the same delusions Octomom is.
You’ll see SuperNanny with her hair down and her glasses off (and looking damn hot sometimes).
Take heart, guys — there are do-nothing mothers, problem nannies, and even male nannies (‘mannies’).
Wendy Wilson (of Wilson Phillips fame) was a featured parent.
It was lampooned on South Park, Doctor Who and Drawn Together, among others.
