The Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries was founded by Iraq, Iran, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and Venezuela in Baghdad Iraq (November 14, 1960). Ecuador withdrew in the 1990's. Gabon withdrew in the 1990's and the rejoined.
