Why she might be annoying
She is religious zealot.
Her husband, Keith testified that the family was 'deeply religious.'
Her brother-in-law is her Pentecostal Pastor Gary Bell, of Tyler's First Assembly of God church.
She committed adultery with a co-worker but she and her husband worked it out (approx 1989).
She claims God wanted her to kill them.
When she tripped on a rock, she knew that was God telling her that a rock would be the weapon of choice.
She pleaded insanity to save her own life (would a legitimately insane person really care about saving herself?).
She killed her boys just prior to Mother's Day (May 11, 2003).
She believed God suggested she either stab, stone or strangle her children.
She claims that she and child murderer, Andrea Yates, were chosen by God to kill their children and be witnesses after the world ends.
She took it as an omen when she saw her one year old playing with a toy spear. She remembered: 'I said `Boy, what are you doing over there?' And he turned around and he had a spear and I knew I was going to have to kill my boys.'
She first bashed Aaron on the skull while he was sleeping in his crib. Aaron is now permanently disabled.
She then smashed in the skulls of Luke and Joshua.
Joshua fought back and got the worst beating, including scrapes and bruising.
In the garden where she killed her two sons, were signs that read 'Mom's Love Grows Here' and 'Thank God for Mothers.'
Why she might not be annoying
She was a stay-at-home mom.
She home-schooled her children.
She told a psychiatrist: 'I believed with all my heart that it was the Lord telling me that, but I couldn't figure out why.'
She was eerily calm in her 911 call and said: 'I just killed my boys.'
Five mental health experts agreed she is insane.
Prosecutors are not seeking the death penalty.
She constantly cried during her trial.
