Filmmaker
The Resume
(May 7, 1969- )
Wrote and directed the films 'Blood, Guts, Bullets and Octane (1998)' and 'Narc (2002)'
Why he might be annoying
He admits that he is a 'big mouth' and that he 'talks shit.'
While working for a television studio in Sacramento, he ignored the company's rules and used the studio's filming and editing equipment for his own personal use, to make his first feature film 'Blood, Guts, Bullets and Octane.'
His films contain excessive profanity and he himself curses liberally while doing press and interviews.
Why he might not be annoying
He has the ability to make films on micro budgets and small filming periods ('Narc' was shot in 28 days and his first two films were made for less that $8000 each).
He started directing during the 'Tarantino influenced' indie film period, yet he managed to avoid being labelled as another Tarantino rip-off.
When asked if broadcast TV was ready for him (after hearing that his debut film was being considered for a TV series), he replied: 'If prime time can stomach Urkel for twelve seasons, I'll go down like filet mignon in a famine.'
When a particular critic attacked one of his films on three separate reviews, he tracked him down, rang him up and gave him a serve. The critic has since stayed clear of Joe and his films.
