Premise: Contestants unveil parts of a rebus puzzle by matching pairs of prizes, then try to solve the puzzle
Original host Jack Barry was fired early in its run because he was involved in the infamous quiz show scandals.
The mechanical board used on the show frequently malfunctioned and almost caught fire once.
Some of the prizes were 'joke prizes,' usually an old shoe or a wet sponge.
Reruns can't be aired because NBC owns the rights to the show.
It ranked #20 on TV Guide's '50 Greatest Game Shows of All Time.'
Its home board game is the best-selling game show home game of all time.
Ralph Branca appeared as a contestant and won 17 straight games.
David Letterman frequently uses the show's catchphrase, 'Not a match, the board goes black.'
The game was very simple and anyone could play it.
The original board of 30 squares was reduced to 25 in the 1980's to make the game easier.
