Why he might be annoying
He suffered a near death experience when he crashed into a reef during the 'Pipeline Masters' when he was 17 years old.
The two first songs he learned on the guitar were 'One' by Metallica and 'Father and Son' by Cat Stevens.
His guitar strings are often sticking out crazily at the top of his guitar.
Why he might not be annoying
He is an avid and professional surfer and he started when he was three years old.
He studied film and began writing songs at the University of California.
When he was in his early teens he started playing the guitar.
He has done covers of songs written by artists including White Stripes, Sublime and Beatles.
Him and his friends produced a surfing documentary called, 'Thicker Than Water' which was called the 'Video of the Year' for 2000 by Surfer Magazine.
His influences are Ben Harper, Beatles, Bob Dylan, Radiohead and Jimi Hendrix.
In 2001 and 2002 he won the 'ESPN Action, Sports & Music Award for Surfing's Music Artist of the Year.'
He is very popular among twenty-something year olds and college students.
His music has been called inspiring and respectable.
