Murderer

The Resume

    (September 17, 1925-March 21, 2008)
    Born in Bay City, Michigan
Murdered his wife, Helen, his mother, Alma, and his three children, Patricia, John, Jr., and Frederick (November 9, 1971)
Captured 18 years later living under the name Robert Clark (June 1, 1989)
Caught after being profiled on 'America's Most Wanted'
Show featured an uncannily accurate bust by forensic artist Frank Bender projecting what List would look like

Why he might be annoying:

After his mother gave him power of attorney, he embezzled from her accounts to cover his expenses.
Shortly before the murders, he asked the children if they would prefer to be buried or cremated.
After killing his mother, his wife and two of his children, he casually ate lunch.
He then went to watch son John, Jr., at a soccer game, drove him home and shot him ten times.
In a creepy touch, he left a recording of an organ playing religious music on the house intercom.
In a letter to his pastor, he said there was too much evil in the world and he killed his family to save their souls.
For a while, he was considered a suspect in the D. B. Cooper skyjacking case.
In an interview with Connie Chung (2002), he said he expected to be reunited with his family in Heaven.

Why he might not be annoying:

His father always referred to him as 'the boy.'
He served with the Army in World War II.
He was a fan of 'America's Most Wanted' and encouraged his friends to watch it.
'The Usual Suspects' screenwriter Christopher McQuarrie used List as the inspiration for Keyser Soze.
