To complete a Fast Forward, he and Tyler had to eat deep-fried crickets and grasshoppers in Thailand.
He blamed Team Mojo (Joseph and Monica) for canceling their cab and retaliated by yielding them when it was the Frat Boys (Eric and Jeremy) who pulled the crude stunt.

Why he might not be annoying:

He speaks other languages, including Japanese and Spanish.
He and Tyler are experienced travelers.
His knowledge of world flags helped him and Tyler complete the last detour leading to their winning the race.
Their win took the victory away from the Frat Boys, who were the villains of the show.
