Object of the game:
18 players are divided into two teams.
Each episode the teams are assigned the same task.
Each team chooses a project manager (team leader) who leads the team.
The team that earns the most money (or in some cases critical praise) for the task wins.
The winning team gets a reward.
The winning project manager may be exempt from being fired during the next task.
The project manager (team leader) of the losing team selects two other members of the losing team to meet with Donald Trump, Carolyn Kepcher and George Ross.
Each pleads why they should continue on but Donald Trump eventually eliminates one (or more) of them

Why Apprentice 4 might be annoying
Although it is known as 'Apprentice 4,' it is officially titled 'Apprentice: Donald.'
Donald Trump gave his partner permission to do a spin-off in Hong Kong. Donald Trump predicted it would fail as 11 Apprentice imitations have failed previously.
They are continuing the policy of product placement.
Firings are arbitrary and completely at the whim of Donald Trump.
Donald Trump at a press conference blamed Mark Burnett for Apprentice 3's lack of success. He claimed Mark Burnett paid no attention to who he wanted as Apprentice applicants.
Donald Trump told the NY Times: 'I try to be objective, but beauty is an unfair advantage for certain people.'
A project aboard a cruise ship was cancelled when the ship developed problems.
Trump indicated he wanted to hire Rebecca Jarvis also, but when he asked the winner Randal Pinkett for his opinion, he greedly said there is only Apprentice.
Why Apprentice 4 might not be annoying
They continued the success of Apprentice, Apprentice 2 and Apprentice 3.
This is the first time Donald Trump selected all 18 candidates.
Although the candidates range in age of 22-41, most skew young.
He claimed on The Howard Stern Show this is the best looking Apprentice cast ever.
Among the candidates are two beauty queens, a stripper and an openly gay guy.
Shania Twain and George Lucas appeared on this series.
