    All their albums carried the title 'The GAP Band.'
    They wore tight, shiny fringed trousers and cowboy hats.
    'You Dropped A Bomb On Me' was used in an Animal Planet commercial with dancing monkeys.
    Their songs have been sampled to death.
    The band took their name from Greenwood Avenue, Archer and Pine Streets, which made up Tulsa's riot-ravaged Black Wall Street.
    They are not associated with nondescript clothiers, the Gap.
    The group drew raves for their dance-infused funk and energetic live shows.
    The guys amassed several number one singles on the R&B chart.
