    He claimed that the firings were based on poor performance even though most of those involved had positive evaluations.
    He called Chuck Schumer and apologized for not telling him the truth.
    He oversaw the prosecutions of John Walker Lindh and Zacarias Moussaoui.
    He was not so much actively involved with the firings as much as he was simply aware of what was happening.
