    Composed the ballets 'Romeo and Juliet' (1925), 'Horoscope' (1938) and 'Tiresias' (1950)
    Composed the score for the film 'Anna Karenina' (1948)

Why he might be annoying:

    He was a child prodigy.
    He had an extramarital affair with ballerina Margot Fonteyn.
    He considered himself a failure as a composer.
    He was afraid of doctors and never got his diabetes properly treated.
    He further undermined his health through overwork and heavy drinking.

    He was deaf in one ear from a childhood illness.
    At age 20, he was the first English composer commissioned to write a ballet for Sergei Diaghilev's Ballet Russes.
    He was one of the first classical composers to take jazz seriously.
    John Maynard Keynes said he was possibly the most brilliant man he ever met.
    A critic for 'The Guardian' wrote '[His] scores could make the dullest dancer seem divine.'
