    (September 13, 1967- )
    Born in Akron, Ohio
Best known for going from fronting a Judas Priest tribute band to replacing Rob Halford as lead singer of Judas Priest (1996-2003)
Was also in the bands Brainicide, Winter's Bane, Iced Earth, Yngwie Malmsteen's Rising Force, Charred Walls of the Damned, HAIL!, and Dio Disciples
Recorded the solo album 'Play My Game' (2009)
Loosely inspired the Mark Wahlberg movie 'Rock Star'
    He has a 'Ripper' tattoo.
He went from fronting a Judas Priest tribute band to the real thing to fronting a Ronnie James Dio tribute band.
He said of 'Rock Star,' 'It would be nice to tell the real story' and complained that the producers made 'the cliched rock star story, with lines of groupies, sex, drugs and rock and roll.'
He said one of the good things about being portrayed by Mark Wahlberg was 'It was the first time in my life I had abs.'
He is a fan of Celine Dion's 'All By Myself.' (How unmetal!)
He lived out the ultimate fan's dream for seven years, which is seven years longer than almost every other fan manages.
He got the Judas Priest frontman gig after singing only one line at his audition.
He is not bitter about being replaced by a returning Halford: 'I'm friends with all the guys, even Rob.'
He had quite a vocal range, with one critic writing 'His low notes rumble deeper than the bass, and his high notes will shake the rafters.'
He runs a pair of rock-themed restaurants in his hometown, Ripper Owens' Tap House and Ripper's Rock House.
