    She earned a Master's degree in history from the University of Kiev (1936).
    Volunteering for the military after the Nazi invasion of the Soviet Union, a recruiter laughed in her face, thinking she was too stylish and gorgeous to serve.
    Her weapon of choice: Mosin-Nagant bolt action rifle.
    Woody Guthrie immortalized her in song.
    As badass as she was beautiful, she was regarded as the deadliest female sniper of all time, with 309 kills, including 257 German soldiers and 36 enemy snipers, one of whom had racked up over 500 kills himself.
