Why he might be annoying
She was a troubled teen who was busted a few times for petty crimes.
She got a DUI in her 20s.
When Nichols asked her for pot to smoke, she didn't have any, but did have crystal meth. She gave it to him to snort lines off the bathroom counter.
She made pancakes for him.
During the ordeal, she lifted her tank top and showed Nichols a 5 inch scar, the result of a car wreck from driving during a drug psychosis.
Besides sniffing ice, she was in and out of treatment centers for abusing speed, pot and Xanax.
She says Nichols thought she was an angel sent from God (thus the book title).
He was the first person hired for the Howard 100 News.
Why he might not be annoying
Her husband was stabbed to death in a brawl and died in her arms (August 18, 2001).
She read Bible passages and quotes from the book 'The Purpose Driven Life' to give Nichols time to reflect.
Sales for the Rick Warren book jumped after the media reported its part in the event.
The ordeal made her realize she was an addict who needed help.
She has received accolades for her level-headedness and the ability to talk a well-armed con with nothing to lose into letting her go.
She received $60,000 in reward money for the successful capture of Nichols.
She claims to to have given up drugs since the event.
