Why he might be annoying:

Under his supervision, the Berlin Wall was built.
When he got angry at the U.N., he removed his shoe and banged it on the table.
He once said to America: 'We Will Bury You.'
During the Cuban Missile Crisis, he backed down to Kennedy (October, 1962).
At 18 years old, he organized a strike and was promptly fired (1908).
At another job he organized strikes in 1915, 16, and 17.
When Hungary tried to leave the soviet bloc, he sent troops to brutally suppress the Hungarians (1956).

Why he might not be annoying:

He was the first Soviet in power to speak out against Stalin (of course Stalin was dead for three years - 1956).
During his tenure, the Soviet Union was beating the U.S. in the space race.
He was born a peasant.
