Why she might be annoying:

She was frequently typecast in films as ‘the other woman.’
She reportedly had the longest hair of any Hollywood starlet at 39 inches.
Paramount promoted her with the tagline ‘Lamour plus Lamarr equals LaMorison.’
She had a role in ‘Kiss of Death’ (1947), as Victor Mature’s wife, who is raped and then commits suicide, that might have garnered her an Oscar nomination. However, Hollywood censors refused to allow either the rape or suicide to be depicted on screen, so her entire part was cut.
When she got frustrated with the roles she received in Hollywood, she gained weight until the studio fired her. (‘I overate my way out of the Paramount contract.’)

Why she might not be annoying:

She studied dance with Martha Graham.
She entertained soldiers overseas with the USO during World War II.
She was Cole Porter’s personal choice to star in ‘Kiss Me Kate.’
She was also a painter who had several showings in and around Los Angeles.
She had to undergo a double hip replacement after being struck by a car while in a crosswalk (2000).
When she was 99, she performed ‘Brush Up Your Shakespeare’ from ‘Kiss Me Kate’ for a Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS benefit.
