Why Marceline, Missouri might be annoying:

It was randomly named after the wife of a railroad worker.
It is small enough to be situated on the joint Linn-Chariton county line.
Prior to the Disney connection, its biggest claim to fame had been the Santa Fe Railway Station connecting Missouri to Kansas.
Traveling back and forth on the train from Los Angeles to New York, Walt Disney's wife Lillian claimed he would embarrass them whenever the car stopped at the local rail station, running through the cars yelling, ‘That’s my hometown, that’s my hometown!'

Why Marceline, Missouri might not be annoying:

It was model inspiration for the Main Street USA at the Disney theme parks.
Walt both developed his love of storytelling and animation in Marceline.
It was the ubiquitous setting for the Disney films So Dear to My Heart and Lady and the Tramp, the studio's first animated feature based on an original story. Historians have since dubbed it Walt's love letter to his childhood home.
It is the site of a museum that showcases artifacts from the Disney family's farm, as well as memorabilia related to Disney's various visits back to the city (nearly three thousand items overall).
Walt Disney purchased over 200 acres of its adjacent land with a potential amusement park in mind, however the 'Marceline Project' came to a halt after his 1969 death (fans now call it 'the lost park').
