Why he might be annoying:

    He was an extravagant spender.
    He was involved in black magic and the occult.
    He had a long name.
    He confessed to murdering hundreds of children.
    According to accounts, he drugged and sexually assaulted the children. He then either had them killed or killed them himself. He then burned the bodies.
    He was convicted and executed by hanging.

    He fought alongside Joan of Arc in the Hundred Years' War.
    He became famous for his bravery on the battlefield.
    Aleister Crowley and anthropologist Margaret Murray are among those who have questioned his guilt.
    He was Marshal of France.
    He is believed to have inspired the character of Bluebeard.
