She was once a nun but quit after a few months.
She stopped practicing the Catholic faith years ago.
She disagrees with the Catholic Church's teachings on many things not just abortion, rejecting virtually everything it teaches on the subject of human sexuality.
Despite this she claims that her beliefs are the correct ones for Catholics and not the ones that the Catholic Church actually teaches.
Why does she stay in a church she disagrees with and doesn't attend?
Why she might not be annoying
She has dedicated her life to something she believes in.
She was a highly effective in her position with Catholics for a Free Choice, bringing it far more influence than its size would normally dictate.
She doesn't back down.
She continues to promote her beliefs even in retirement.
