Why Mattel Intellivision might be annoying:

What is intelligent about a video game console?
It's ads featured George Plimpton bashing the Atari 2600's sucky graphics.
Mattel's secret game programming team was referred to in public as the 'Blue Sky Rangers.'
Mattel promised a keyboard with the console after it was released, but they never got around to actually making it until the FTC fined them $10,000 a day until it was.
Mattel constantly used code names when referring to what they were developing for the console.

Why Mattel Intellivision might not be annoying:

Over 3 million were sold, giving Mattel over $100,000,000 in sales.
It was arguably the most successful challenger to the Atari 2600.
