He gave up his throne to marry Wallis Simpson, a divorced American (who was also seeing a used car salesman.)
His abdication left his brother, George VI, as king, even though George had no preparation for the throne.
He was a Nazi sympathizer.
He and Wallis spent most of their lives among the idle rich, doing nothing.
