He originally thought that the Beatles' demo was 'pretty lousy.'
He produced the soundtrack album to the box-office bomb 'Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band.'
He gradually lost his hearing.
Before retiring, he released one last album, 'In My Life,' featuring Jim Carrey, Goldie Hawn, and Robin Williams performing Beatle songs.
