Boxer

The Resume

    (June 14, 1951- )
    Born in Gatesville, Texas
Professional boxer and former heavyweight champion of the world
World Boxing Association Heavyweight Champion between 3/31/80-12/01/82
Professional record of 41-18-1 with 28 knockout victories and twelve knockout losses

Why he might be annoying:

He didn't take a very good punch with twelve of his eighteen losses coming by way of knockout.
A classic spoiler, he frequently lost fights he was expected to do well in and won fights where he was a huge underdog.
He seemed to lose concentration during his fights.
    He was a slow starter.

Why he might not be annoying:

He won the heavyweight championship when well behind on points, he knocked out defending champion John Tate with a perfect left hook with 45 seconds left in the fight.
Even fellow heavyweights were in awe of his physical strength and his nickname 'Hercules' was given him by heavyweight champion Larry Holmes.
Along with his win over John Tate, his spectacular knockouts of Gerrie Coetzee and Carl 'The Truth' Williams belong on any highlight reel of great knockouts.
In his defense against Michael Dokes, the referee stopped the fight and gave it to Dokes for no particular reason and the rematch which Weaver dominated was judged a draw.
He was very friendly in person and had a great smile.
Due to his exciting fight style, he was loved by fight fans.
