    Born in Kaunas, Lithuania
    Played for Žalgiris Kaunas (1981-89, 2001-02, 2003-04), Forum Valladolid (1989-92), Real Madrid (1992-95) and the Portland Trail Blazers (1995-2001, 2002-03)
    Drafted 24th overall by the Portland Trail Blazers in the 1986 NBA Draft

Why he might be annoying:

    He did not make his NBA debut until nine years after he was drafted.
    He was initially drafted by the Atlanta Hawks in the 1985 NBA Draft, which was later voided as a result of him being underage.
    He was prohibited from leaving the Soviet Union during the prime years of his career.
    Some basketball pundits felt his decline in the later stages of his career was a result of his lack of time to rest, upon being injured.
    He admitted to playing to the point he burned himself out both mentally and physically.

Why he might not be annoying:

    He was considered a dominating force in the early stages of his playing career.
    He played on the Soviet National team in the 1988 Olympics on a bum knee.
    He openly admitted to being overused by the Soviet National team, which he felt contributed to his long term health problems.
    He was inducted into the FIBA Hall of Fame for his contributions to international basketball (2011).
    Clyde Drexler once stated that he could have been the final piece of the Trail Blazers potential championship team if he would have been allowed to play in the NBA during his prime.
