Founded the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN (considered one of the world's premiere medical facilities)
Why they might be annoying
Both went to separate medical schools (Dr. Will to the University of Michigan; Dr. Charlie, the Chicago Medical College).
Both seem to look gloomy when pictured.
They picked an out of the way place to open a major medical center (Rochester Minn.).
Their first lessons in human anatomy was of a Native American skeleton who was hanged in 1862 for their involvement in the Sioux Massacre in Minnesota.
Dr. Will's introduction to medicine came when he assisted his father (a doctor) in administer anesthesia.
They disliked their fame.
Quacks, taking advantage of the Mayo name, opened 'Mayo Clinics' in other cities.
Why they might not be annoying
They pioneered teamwork and group medical practice.
They believed doctors should learn from fellow doctors.
They successfully worked on improving recovery rate.
They refused to kowtow to anti-Catholic sentiments by helping establish St. Mary's Hospital (1883). They made it clear that all the sick are welcome.
No sibling rivalry, they referred to themselves in the plural, right down to their checking account.
The Mayo Clinic opened following an 1883 tornado that devastated parts of Rochester.
