Why he might be annoying
He is overweight.
He dresses like a slob.
He was arrested while filming a music video that lead to the shut down of the New York Stock Exchange.
He has been called a hypocrite, being a social activist for the poor and underprivileged while also flying first class and owning a 2 million dollar home.
He is a lifetime member of the NRA, an organization he has fought against.
He ambushed a mentally ailing Charton Heston at his home to question Heston about the NRA's insensitivity to the Columbine massacre.
His films are obviously bias and sometimes degenerate into self-promotion.
He made an anti-war speech at the Oscars, drawing boos from the audience.
Why he might not be annoying
He is known for his trademark baseball cap and glasses.
He worked his way up from a humble beginning, running bingo games to raise money for his first major film.
He seems to be one of the only film makers to raise important social issues about American society (like the corruption of big business and gun control).
He is outspoken and a social activist for the victims of consumer society and big business.
Because of his efforts, K-Mart agreed to stop selling ammunition for hand guns.
He still lives in America despite criticizing the country extensively.
He is ranked in People Magazine's 25 Most Intriguing People (1997).
For his movie 'Fahrenheit 9/11,' he tried to get politicians to enlist their children into the war.
He won the 2003 Best Documentary Oscar ('Bowling for Columbine')
