Why she might be annoying
As head of the RIAA, she played an instrumental role in trying to rid the world of online music swapping.
The RIAA's anti-piracy actions under her reign included shutting down numerous file-swapping programs, confiscating U.S. Navy computers which had copyrighted music and trying to force ISP's to publicly identify those who had downloaded copyrighted music.
She claims that she tries to stop online music piracy to help recording artists make money even though they don't make that much money to begin with under current recording industry laws.
She allowed CD's that cost less than a dollar to make, sell at around twenty dollars.
She thinks that music sales are down because of online music piracy, while failing to blame the music, the price of CD's and the struggling economy.
She ran an organization whose sole purpose is to make as much money as they can, while ignoring what the public wanted.
Why she might not be annoying
She was the head of a very powerful and influential organization.
She has been involved with many non-profit organizations and was one of the founding members of Rock the Vote.
She is a lesbian who has advocated for legal same-sex adoption rights, among other things.
