Artist for Marvel's 'Uncanny X-Men' and 'Deadpool'
Creator and artist on 'Battle Chasers'
Why he might be annoying
While most artists produce 24 pages of comic book art every month, he had problems producing more than three issues of 'Battle Chasers' in a year.
He was featured in an issue of 'Wizard' magazine, where he gave a tour of his residence. He showed off his collection of Japanese cartoons and video games instead of his art studio.
He cancelled his comic book 'Battle Chasers' in the middle of a promising storyline so he could co-found his own video game company, Tri-Lunar.
Tru-Lunar folded while the game he was working on was still in development.
Why he might not be annoying
He got his first job at Marvel Comics at the age of 16.
He is largely credited for popularizing a stylized Japanese animation look in American comic books, which became the more influential art style of the time.
He acknowledges all of his artistic influences, which include Japanese comic book artist Masamune Shirow and American artist Arthur Adams.
His artwork for Marvel's 'Uncanny X-Men' is easily one of the more distinct looks that the book has ever taken.
His creator-owned comic book 'Battle Chasers' was a radical departure from typical super hero fare that is often prevalent in comic books.
He still has ties to the comic book industry, contributing occasional cover art.
